We met Walter Driver and his co-founders in the summer of 2011 and invested into Scopely’s initial seed round.
As the teams’ vision and tech platform matured and they launched their first few games, we invested additional capital from our early stage fund to buy some secondary shares. By 2014, the company really established its mobile game publishing model and the revenues began to grow exponentially. We then invested more capital into the Series A round. Last year, we led the $55M Series B round with the largest investment we have made to date from our Growth Fund. The growth has been tremendous, and they have become the largest mobile game publisher in the Western Hemisphere. Walter Driver was also named E&Y 2016 Entrepreneur of the Year.
