June 17, 2025

Today, I’m delighted to share Greycroft’s investment in Applied Intuition, which has announced a $600 million Series F and tender offer at a $15 billion valuation. Applied Intuition’s mission is to accelerate the world’s adoption of safe and intelligent machines. We’re excited to partner with Qasar Younis, co-founder and CEO, and Peter Ludwig, co-founder and CTO, along with their team to define the next era of intelligent systems and moving machines.

The Age of Intelligence

Intelligence is transforming every industry Applied Intuition serves—from automotive and trucking to defense, construction, and mining. In automotive, consumers now expect their smart vehicles to provide experiences that continuously update and offer robust autonomous capabilities. China’s rapid advances in software development are intensifying the pressure for differentiation. In defense, the combination of AI, autonomous technology, and shifting global dynamics is reshaping modern warfare.

Unlike legacy systems that focused on one-time deployments with hardware and mechanical design, modern solutions require a software-first approach. We believe Applied Intuition is well positioned to help all of these sectors navigate advances in AI and power the intelligence layer for everything that moves.

By 2035, intelligent systems in passenger cars, trucking, defense, and industrial machines are expected to create a market exceeding $1 trillion. Applied Intuition is building the software and infrastructure powering that future.

A Full Stack Platform to Power Intelligent Machines

Applied Intuition provides a comprehensive product portfolio that addresses the critical software challenges in vehicle intelligence:

  • Tools and infrastructure for vehicle software teams that provide simulation, data, and machine learning environments that speed up development cycles and reduce physical testing needs. This unified, AI-powered system, which includes 14 products, replaces legacy tools and disconnected point solutions.
  • Vehicle OS that enables OEMs to build, launch, and update intelligent vehicles. The platform combines onboard and offboard software with a developer workbench for managing updates and system performance. By consolidating onto this platform, customers achieve faster deployment times and reduced costs.
  • Autonomy applications that include AD/ADAS and full-stack autonomous systems for trucks, off-road vehicles, drones, and more. Built on Applied Intuition’s tools and platform, these applications are now used by major OEMs and defense programs.

Most recently, Applied Intuition introduced a multimodal voice assistant for natural, real-time vehicle interaction. Voice interfaces are becoming the primary way users experience and interact with vehicle intelligence.

This evolution—from simulation to platform to autonomy—reflects Applied Intuition’s long-term vision for a full stack vehicle intelligence software solution. Each layer builds deliberately on the previous one, with development accelerating at an impressive pace of over 1,000 new features per quarter.

Building for Anything That Moves

Applied Intuition started in automotive and has expanded to power intelligence across a wide range of moving machines:

  • Automotive: With nearly 100 million new vehicles produced globally each year, customers include 18 of the top 20 global OEMs.
  • Trucking: Partnerships with industry leaders TRATON and Isuzu to enhance safety, efficiency, and scalability in autonomous commercial vehicle fleets.
  • Defense: Commercial technologies adapted for autonomy software in land, aerial, and maritime systems. Through its EpiSci acquisition, Applied Intuition has further expanded into collaborative autonomy.
  • Construction and mining: Successfully deployed on multiple vehicle types and form factors.
  • Aerial and agricultural systems: Delivering autonomous solutions that enhance operational safety and efficiency.

The opportunity extends to potential new verticals including humanoid robots, autonomous mobile robots, manipulators, surgical robots, and eVTOL aircraft—as well as entirely new generations of intelligent machines.

Applied Intuition is not focused on a single vertical. They are the intelligence software layer for moving machines across many industries.

A Mission-Driven Team & Culture

What sets Applied Intuition apart isn’t just their achievements and execution—it’s the people behind the company.

Co-founders Qasar Younis and Peter Ludwig bring deep expertise in software and automotive engineering. Their experiences at General Motors with embedded automotive systems and at Google on Android Automotive gave them insight into the software stack’s limitations, inspiring them to reimagine it from first principles.

During my fireside chat with Qasar at our AI Summit earlier this year, his commitment to the company’s mission was clear. He’s deeply aware of what needs to change to prepare for what’s coming next. We’re entering a new era of AI—one where intelligence resides within machines, collaborates with humans, and navigates physical environments. As vehicles evolve into intelligent devices, we need an entirely new framework of models, infrastructure and software.

Qasar is also intensely focused on building a culture that blends speed, rigor, and excellence. The company has attracted an exceptional level of talent, including more than 30 former founders. Applied Intuition’s values serve as its North Star: (1) Move fast, move safe, (2) Never disappoint the customer, (3) Raise the quality bar, (4) High output matters, (5) Cultivate technical mastery, (6) Be self-regulated, (7) Be cost conscious, (8) Laugh a lot, (9) Leave it better than you found it, and (10) Half of the work is following up.

The Road Ahead

Applied Intuition stands in rarefied air: bold, ambitious, and long-term driven; rapidly growing at scale and profitable; a track record of execution and technical excellence; category-defining.

Over the past two decades, Greycroft has been a proud partner to transformative technology platforms, particularly companies harnessing the power of AI. We couldn’t be more excited to support Qasar and Peter to catapult the autonomy industry forward.
